Elmo Louise

Elmo Louise grew up in a small town in the Midwest, where he spent his childhood exploring creeks, building forts in the woods, and developing a profound connection to the natural world. These early experiences would later become the foundation for his writing, which often explores the intersection of human emotion and the natural environment.

After earning a degree in Environmental Studies and Creative Writing from Middlebury College, Louise worked as a naturalist at several national parks before turning to writing full-time. His debut novel, "The River Speaks," draws heavily from his experiences leading youth programs that connected teenagers with the outdoors.

"I believe that nature has a voice," Louise says. "It speaks to us constantly, if only we learn to listen. My writing is an attempt to translate some of those messages, to help readers—especially young people—recognize their own deep connection to the natural world."

When not writing, Louise can be found kayaking, hiking with his dog, or teaching writing workshops for young adults. He currently lives in a cabin near the Appalachian Trail, where he is working on his next novel.
