Ferry Lawrence

Ferry Lawrence

Ferry Lawrence studied astronomy and physics at the University of Colorado before discovering her true passion in science fiction writing. Fascinated by the possibilities of space exploration and theoretical physics from an early age, she's dedicated her career to crafting accessible stories that bring complex scientific concepts to young readers.

"The great science fiction writers like Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein showed me that you don't need a doctorate to explore big ideas," Lawrence explains. "They made space, technology, and the future feel exciting and accessible to everyone, and that's what I aim to do with my stories."

Lawrence's debut novel, "Beyond the Ruliad," draws inspiration from contemporary physics concepts while focusing on characters and adventures that resonate with young adult readers. Her writing balances scientific plausibility with compelling storytelling.

"I believe science fiction at its best doesn't just entertain—it inspires curiosity," Lawrence says. "If a teenager reads my books and then looks up at the stars with new questions, I've done my job."

When not writing, Lawrence enjoys amateur astronomy, hiking the trails around Boulder, and volunteering at her local planetarium where she leads stargazing sessions for school groups. She lives in Colorado with her partner and their two cats, Sagan and Clarke.
